Similarly, Dino Melaye, a senator representing Kogi West at the Senate also called for the resignation of Mr. Bello after being accused of double registration in the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Permanent Voters Card (PVC).

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had accused the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello of double registration for Permanent Voter Card against electoral law.

Sen. Melaye who briefed journalists alongside the APC chairman in Kogi state, former senators Mohammed Oharie and Abdulrahman Abubakar also condemned the alleged criminal behaviour of Governor Yahaya.

Sen. Melaye said the political stakeholders in the state have dissociated ‎themselves from the alleged criminal behaviour of the governor of Kogi state.

He also said the APC stakeholders in the state would not allow the governor to destroy the party because the platform is still useful for them in 2019.

“We‎ condemn in its entirety, the fraudulent behaviour of Yahaya Bello which has become embarrassing to the people of Kogi and embarrassing to APC.

“We completely dissociate ourselves from this criminal tendency.”

The senator said INEC’s statement underscores his earlier position that Bello was not a registered voter in Kogi as at the time he became governor.
