President Goodluck Jonathan Friday met with the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari in furtherance of plans for the May 29 handover date.

The meeting which took place behind closed door started at about 3:05.pm, it was gathered, centred on the transition programme and inauguration ceremony being planned by the administration.

Buhari was accompanied by the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Chairman, Mr. John Oyegun and former Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazzau (rtd) and other personal aides.

The President-elect arrived the new banquet hall at the presidential villa at exactly 3 p.m. in a convoy of five Toyota Land Cruisers.

Jonathan while answering questions from the State House Correspondents after the meeting said the parley was fruitful and was for them to continue their conversation.

In a jovial atmosphere, the President said he will organise a tour of the Presidential Villa with the President-elect at a yet to be agreed date.‎

“We will take a date when the President (Buhari) will come and I will show him round the state house but today is not for that. Today is to continue with our conversation.

“So we don’t need to worry the President, we don’t need to worry the President”

Asked how fruitful the conversation was he said, “You can see that we are smiling, it was a fruitful one.

“We are discussing the interest of the country,” he added.

When newsmen asked Buhari if he had anything to add, he replied, “The President said it all”
