By Sadiq Umar – The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, has said that ‎President Muhammadu Buhari will now work from his residence at the presidential villa, to enable him rest.

Mr. Mohammed spoke to journalists at the State House after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.

According to the minister, Mr. Buhari has asked that all his files be taken to him in the house and would be working from home henceforth.

The FEC meeting was chaired today for the 3rd time by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo following the President’s absence, heightening speculations that the President’s health may have deteriorated.

“We just concluded the federal executive council meeting, I’m sure you noticed that the president was not there. He was not there because he asked that he be allowed to rest and asked the VP to preside,” Mohammed said.

“And he will be working from home. He has asked all his files to be taken to him in the house. He will be working from home today.”

The media had also reported that the President was planning to return to the UK for further medical attention.

Also, the State House Correspondent of PUNCH Newspaper, Olalekan Adetayo, was on Monday expelled from the Presidential Villa by the Chief Security Office to the President over his report on the Mr. Buhari’s ill-health.

He was later recalled, following the intervention of the Director-General of State Security Services, Lawal Daura.

But ‎the PUNCH has demanded an apology from the State House before Mr. Adetayo can return to the villa‎.
