General Elections: INEC Assures On ‘Special Arrangement’ For Physically Challenged

The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kaduna State, Mr. Hussaini Ahmed Mahuta, has assured that all polling stations would be designed to accommodate the needs of the physically challenged persons in the forthcoming elections.

Mahuta, who was represented by Abdullahi Adamu Gujungu, at the awareness workshop for people living with disabilities in Kaduna, said Thursday that polling officers will provide necessary support to physically challenged persons during voting and that polling areas will be accessible to every voter.

Accordint to him, “The commission regards your association of people living with disabilities as a valuable stakeholder, appreciate the challenges that you encounter during elections but nevertheless remain committed to the process and we are willing to assist in anyway legally possible to eliminate or at least reduce your hardships.”

He added that the commission will not tolerate any form of electoral fraud in the forthcoming elections.
