As reported by News Investigators last Sunday, Osibajo is the candidate of the National leader of APC in South West, Mr. Bola Tinubu, who holds the ace for the slot.

Other contenders like Gov. Amaechi of Rivers, Adams Osiohmole of Edo, Rochas Okorocha of Imo made last minutes desperate moves to outsmart Tinubu without success.

The party’s flagbearer, Muhammadu Buhari, had conceded the choice of his running mate to Tinubu because of his capacity to deliver on the south west votes which is believed to be the determinant factor for victory in the next year general elections.

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had caught in on that to lash out on Buhari.

The move was believed to have been made to prevent Tinubu from having his way on the choice of running mate, which would have pitched him against his party, APC.

Detail of the intrigues that saw the emergence of Osibajo is still sketchy, the choice sources said has ignited fear in the PDP circle, since it is sure to weaken the PDP’s campaign of religious bigotry leveled against APC.
