The Federal government has declared Friday, July 17 and Monday, 20, 2015 as public holidays to mark the end of the ramadan fast.

In a statement issued Tuesday, by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Mr. Abubakar Magaji, President Muhammadu Buhari urged Muslims to pray for peace and unity in Nigeria.

The statement urged Muslims and Nigerians to extend the spiritual benefits inherent in the month of Ramadan, including love, peace and sacrifice for development of the country.

Magaji tasked Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in its determination and sustained efforts towards building a peaceful, united and strong country.

While wishing the Muslim faithful a happy celebration, Magaji further advised Nigerians, home and in the Diaspora, to use the Salaah period to pray for peace and unity in Nigeria.
