Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has advised Nigerians to accept the outcome of the presidential elections for the sake of peace, adding that “Nigeria as a country is greater than any individual or group.

He also pleaded with politicians and Nigerians to shun any form of post-election violence in order save the country’s fragile peace.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the Governor said, “the election result is the will of God and Nigerians, and all lovers of peace, progress and development of Nigeria must accept it.”

He noted that the election has not only proven that democracy has come to stay but also reveals that Nigerians believe in democracy, adding that the process and the outcome of the election have clearly demonstrated the strength of the electorate in the real democratic era, saying, it was not alone for any party to feel sad or more victorious.

“The election results should not been seen as victory or loss for any political party….To me, Nigerians and democracy won.

“I salute President Jonathan for laying the most solid foundation for democracy in Nigeria… and I salute Major General Buhari for being resilience and dogged fighter,” he added.
