The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Special Adviser on Niger Delta, Mr. Kingsley Kuku, for interrogation over corruption charges.

Kuku, who is warming up to join the Ondo state governorship race scheduled for next year, is being investigated by the EFCC over allegations of embezzlement and fraudulent diversion of funds running into hundreds of millions of Naira.

The Amnesty Programme which was under Kuku’s purview had been enmeshed in controversy amid allegations of mismanagement of the fund.

The Commission’s spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren confirmed Kuku’s invitation, saying it is for Tuesday July 28.

Similarly, former Special Assistant to Jonathan on schools and agricultural programme appeared before the agency on Wednesday for over 10 hours where she answered questions over allegations of diverted funds meant for the schools agricultural programme.

She released after promising to return with documents that will help her explain her involvement in the allegation.
