A deadly explosion has occurred at the heart of the capital city Abuja.
Reports reaching us now said the blast occurred at about 4:15 p.m at the second gate of the ever-busy EMAB Plaza located at Aminu Kano Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, opposite the mosque.
Securitymen including soldiers and emergency officials have besieged the scene of the incident even as our correspondent reported that there is pandemonium at the Banex junction end of the street as the usual human and vehicular traffics turned chaotic at the sound of the blast.
Sound of ambulance vehicles rent the air as the soldiers were seen rushing towards the direction.

Our correspondent reports that about 12 dead bodies have so far been gathered at the scene of the blast. Many of the injured are also been helped into ambulances to nearby hospital.
“Some of them are being taken to the nearby Maitama General Hospital, he said, adding that angry looking soldiers are have cordoned off the area to allow smooth emergency services.”
