By Nuel Suji – Former Governor of Plateau, Senator Joshua Dariye has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Dariye a Senator from People Democratic Party (PDP) representing Plateau State achored his defection on current crisis between Markarfi led faction and Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the party.
In a letter read by Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki said his followers in the Plateau state left the party because protracted crisis at the National headquater of the party.
The letter reads,”After due consultation with my constituency, I write to notify you of my intention to cross over from PDP to APC. My decision is informed by protracted division at the national level of the PDP that led to the massive movement of my supporters to APC.
“Arising from this, I therefore write formerly inform you of my decision to go along with my supporter.”
Dariye who is currently facing trial on alleged diversion of N1.2 billion ecological fund in 2003.
He however denied joining APC to escape his trial at the Federal High Court over corruption.
