By Nuel Suji – President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned the operation of Abuja- Kaduna commercial rail, promising to complete Lagos Port Harcourt line within shortest possible period .
Buhari said during the commissioning in at the Idu Terminal, Abuja, of the mono-rail constructed by a Chinese company, that the rail operations would ease transportation of commuters and goods from the FCT Abuja to Kaduna and vice versa.
Buhari also indicated that the project has the capacity to aid the country’s desire for industrialization and generation of employment among the youths and graduates.
The modernization exercise dated back to 2009 during the tenure of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, but which was completed by the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan, who was then initially the Vice President.
