By Alaba Ajibade – The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rotimi Akeredolu has won majority votes in the last Saturday governorship election in Ondo State.
The results so far announced has positioned Mr. Akeredolu as winner waiting to be declared governor-elect.
Official results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) put Mr. Akeredolu in clear lead in 14 out of the 17 local governments having polled 224,167 votes.
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Eyitayo Jegede followed with 132,823 votes while Olusola Oke of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) currently has 98,230 votes.
The results of one local government, Ilaje, is expected to be announced by 11 a.m. when INEC official would resume from break.
