BREAKING: 3 Dead, 48 Rescued As Luxury Bus Plunged Into River Early Morning In Lagos

By Nuel Suji – The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said Friday that nine survivors are being attended to at Lagos State Emergency Trauma at Toll Gate, Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The Agency said 48 persons were rescued alive and three dead recovered from the Ikorodu Lagoon where a Lagos-bound luxury bus plunged following an early morning accident.

The vehicle who was traveling with unspecified number of passengers from Enugu to Lagos crashed into the Lagoon in Ikorodu at about 3.00a.m Friday.

“The bus driver and two passengers died, making 3 dead and 48 have been rescued already,” NEMA’s Media Relations Officer, Ibrahim Farinloye who confirmed the incident told News Investigators.

“The GUO bus was coming from Enugu to Lagos, it has been confirmed that there are no more victim in the river,” Mr. Farinloye said. Adding that some of the passengers were said to have walked out immediately after the incident before the arrival of emergency Agencies.
