Army Announces Arrest Of Boko Haram Kingspin, “Nagada”

By Sadiq Umar – The military authorities Tuesday announced the arrest of a high-valued Boko Haram suspect believed to be one of the Commanders of the terrorist organization.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Sani Usman, made the announcement in a statement in Maiduguri.

The statement identifies, Idris Ibrahim Babawo, as serial number 156 in the Boko Haram wanted list.

The Nigeria Police Ondo State Command had on Sunday 24th September 2017 at about 2.00pm, arrested a declared wanted Boko Haram Terrorist group member, Idris Ibrahim Babawo aged 42, that goes by the names “Idoko” and “Nagada”.

He is believed to be on serial number 156 on the wanted Boko Haram terrorists list.

He was handed over to the 32 Brigade, 2 Division, Nigerian Army, at about 2.00pm today Monday 25th September 2017 by the Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Police.

Preliminary investigation shows that the terrorist kingpin hailed from Chinade village, Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

He escaped from the North East due to military onslaught on the terrorists with a view evade arrest and prosecution. But nemesis caught up with him.

In another development, Nigeruan Troops of 1 Brigade, 1 Division Nigerian Army on Operation SHARAN DAJI on Monday 25th September 2017, carried out a successful raid on suspected armed bandits Camps at Kahiru forest, Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

On approaching the camp, the suspected bandits opened fire on the troops and attempted to escape.

The troops returned fire, killing one of the armed bandits and recovered 50 cows, 82 goats and 25 sheep abandoned by the armed bandits.
