APC Meets Thursday To Harmonise Positions On NASS Leadership

The All Progressives Congress (APC) will hold a crucial meeting with all its Senators-elect and House of Representatives; members-elect on Thursday, the 4th of June, at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

Though, the agenda for the meeting is yet to be disclosed, inside sources told News Investigators that the meeting is meant to harmonise positions on the fiercely contested positions of senate presidency and speakership of the House of Representatives that has polarised its leaders.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Lai Mohammed, the party explained that it will meet with its Senators-elect at 10 a.m. while the meeting with its elected members of the House of Representatives is scheduled for 2 p.m. on the same day at the same venue.

It urged all the elected APC federal lawmakers to be punctual for their respective meetings.

The party hierarchy met with President Muhammadu Buhari today at the Defence House where the president operates from.

Sources said the were there to brief the president officially on the developments over the lingering disagreement on who should lead the two chambers of the National Assembly.

The President had earlier said he would not interfere with the selection process of candidates for the Senate Presidency and Speaker, House of Representatives.
