The opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), Saturday embarked on what it called “a Million – Man March For Change” in Lagos State, South West Nigeria.

Lagos State Governorship candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, said exercise is meant to prove that the State belongs to the APC, hence a clear test of popularity and strength between the APC and other political parties.

The March for change which was formerly scheduled to cover between Maryland and Alausa was later redesigned to stretch through Ojota to Teslim Balogun stadium, Surulere.

In the exercise are the APC Vice Presidential candidate, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and his wife; National Chieftain of the Party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; State of Osun Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; Senatorial candidates, Olamilekan Yayi and Gbenga Ashafa; the State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji; women leader, Mrs Kemi Lawson among other party stalwarts.

The March occasions long stretch of traffic on the axis such as popular Ikorodu road and Funsho Williams, making many road users to make a detour to possible alternative routes.

Asiwaju Tinubu while speaking during the march, said freedom was not free, but must be struggled for, therefore called on Nigerians to march for change and not stand by the side.

He added that intimidation, campaign of calumny  and personality attack of the opposition party and its members were not the answers to the Nigerian problems.

He alleged that whenever he was called into the dark to compromise and decline, the ruling party resorted to smearing campaign, adding that he would not be deterred by the intimidation.
