Another 10 Terrorists Surrender To Military, Says Defence Hqtrs

The Defence headquarters said, Tuesday, that another set of 10 terrorists yesterday surrendered to troops at Kawuri town following a major onslaught against the Boko Haram insurgents in the area.

The Nigerian troops have recorded major victories in its war on terror in the past days, resulting in the death of over scores of insurgents, including some of their commanders while some surrendered to the superior fire power of the army.

The defence headquarters in its twitter handle announced Tuesday that the captured terrorists are in custody for necessary security debriefing. 

The military said there was no raid whatsoever in any part of Nigeria’s territory in pursuit of terrorists as claimed in some reports allegedly quoting Cameroon military authorities.

“All operations ongoing in the environs of Konduga and all associated border location within the country

are completely being undertaken by Nigerian troops.

“Other captured terrorists have also been giving useful information on the subsequent plans of the group in an apparent offer to cooperation.”

Earlier at the weekend, the military reported that 5 terrorists surrendered with all their weapons to troops Konduga pleading for mercy.
