Adamawa Urges Customs To Intensify Boarder Security

By Tom Garba, Yola – The Governor of Adamawa state,Senator Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow on Monday urged the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to intensify boarder security for the safety of boarder communities in the state.

Bindow made the call while receiving the newly posted Customs Area Comptroller in charge of Adamawa and Taraba who paid him a courtesy call at the Government House in Yola.

The governor stressed the need to integrate boarder communities, ensuring that they equally have sense of belonging.

He noted that some communities in the state were located at the extreme boarders between the state and the Republic of Cameroon.

“We have some communities who are at the extreme boarders with the republic of Cameroon, though they are Nigerians and not Cameroonians.

“Let us provide more security cover for them and properly integrate them for them have a sense of belonging.

“To us, we will continue to support the NCS under your command and we will intensify our partnership with you.

“do not hesitate in assisting us in those areas that you feel you can be of help to us, and on our own part, we will support you in earnest.

Earlier, Comptroller Emmanuel Edede, Area Controller in-Charge of Adamawa and Taraba said that he was in the government house to introduce himself to the governor.

Edede, who was accompanied by senior officers of the Adamawa command pledged his loyalty to the governor.

He gave an assurance that the governor would witness a robust cooperation under his leadership.
