Adamawa Community Organises Cultural Day To Celebrate Boko Haram’s Defeat

YOLA/By Tom Garba – The converner of Kamwe (Michika) annual cultural festival, Iliya Yame Kwache is inviting the general public to the 2018 Michika day in an effort to mark the defeats of Boko Haram insurgents in the community.

Michika community has been displaced by the Boko Haram terrorists for over three years making it impossible for them to celebrate the annual day.

Mr Abel Budu Behora is expected to be the chairman of the occasion while General Buba Marwa (rtd) is scheduled as the special guest of Honour.

According to Yame, Saturday 7th of April,2018 is the day that all Michika sons and daughters will gather at the premises of GSS Michika to uphold their cultural heritage.

He revealed that the 2017 cultural day was unique, assuring that this year’s edition of the festival promises more, adding that wide consultation including with many outside the country have been invited to attend to witness the rich culture of Kamwe people.
