By Sadiq Umar – Former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd), Thursday held a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, over some national and international issues.
Gen. Abubakar who met with the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja urged for support for the Buhari led Administration.
Speaking to State House Correspondents after the meeting, the former military Head of State who is also the Chairman National Peace Committee on 2015 general elections, said he was at the Villa to discuss issues of national interest.
The retired General who would not disclose the issues discussed at the meeting, however, said the Peace Committee has since been working and operating at the background after the polls over a year ago to promote peace in the country.
Gen. Abubakar added he has never been inactive, rather, has been engaged in persistent communication when and with those who are necessary.
