President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Mr. Samuel Ogungbesan as the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, Wednesday, said Mashi, who has been at the helm of affairs at FIRS since 2012, was directed to hand over to Ogungbesan with immediate effect.
“Ogungbesan, a co-ordinating director at FIRS, replaces Mr. Kabiru Mashi, who had been the acting executive chairman of the agency since 2012,” the statement read.
Mr. Mfon Akpan from Abia state, who was nominated by the president was rejected by the senate.
