Delivered his polling unit for the first time.

The People Democratic Party (PDP) said there is no truth in rumours making the round that President Goodluck Jonathan is planning to drop Vice President Namadi Sambo ahead of the 2015 election.

The party said there is no question at all that Sambo enjoys the confidence of the president and that PDP is pleased that the duo are working together to deliver on the transformation agenda of the administration.

A statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olisa Metuh, in Abuja yesterday said there was no rift between Jonathan and Sambo, adding that the party was satisfied with the cordial relationship between them.

“There is no doubt whatsoever that the vice president has the implicit confidence in the president,” the party stated.

Adding:  “The PDP is, therefore, very pleased that they are working together in actualising the transformation agenda to the popular acclaim of both Nigerians and the international community,” Metuh said.

The party observed that Jonathan’s recent endorsement by the party’s National Executive Council, NEC, was in recognition of his outstanding performance of which the vice-president was a part of.

“This motion, which was unanimously endorsed by NEC left no room for any form of speculation.

“Jim Nwobodo who seconded it, expressly commended both the President and his Vice for lifting the banner of the PDP very high while praying the NEC to approve the motion,” the statement added.
